Our read
CRM is a fascinating category today with roots going back to contact management and sales force automation in the late 1980s. Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and HubSpot are the incumbents, and the complaint about them is familiar: they're complex and costly, and they often need consultants and full-time admins before they work. That's the opening challengers like Attio, Folk and Day AI are going after, mostly with AI-native pitches. The newer idea is 'agentic CRM,' where the system keeps its own data clean, enriches contacts and runs multi-step sales workflows without manual entry. We've audited nine companies here.
Open question for foundersWhen buyers already know exactly what your category is, what's the one piece of manual work you'll take off their plate that the incumbents still leave there?
